Hole in One Winner

'Under the Weather' Golfer Scores an Ace

Pictured here is the lucky winner, Henry Frey, getting the keys to his brand new Ford F-150 from Courtesy Ford’s General Sales Manager, Devron Stevenson.

The Kevin Millwood Celebrity Golf Tournament did not start out great for Henry Frey, but it ended with a once-in-a-lifetime moment. Despite a sunny sky and warm temperatures, Frey said he felt “under the weather” and almost did not play. He explains, “I forgot my clubs and had to turn around to go back home and get them.”

It was definitely in Frey’s best interest to retrieve his clubs instead of relying on rented clubs from Cherokee Run, which is the course where he scored his first hole in one. There’s a good chance that he wouldn’t have hit his hole in one while using unfamiliar clubs!

Despite having twelve years of golfing experience, Frey mentioned that he had never hit a hole in one before. He said that Hole 2 was difficult as well, especially shooting from 200 yards away and having to avoid plenty of sand traps. However, when he approached the hole and saw the brand new Ford F-150 sitting there as a hole in one prize, he knew he had to try his hardest to win it.

Frey had played on the course before and had also played in the tournament two years prior to this victory. The tournament was founded by the Georgia Sheriffs Youth Homes to assist at-risk children in the state of Georgia, and it was sponsored this year by Courtesy Ford in Conyers, Georgia. Even though Frey was not feeling well at the beginning of the tournament, he sure was happy with how everything turned out. “That day was my lucky day.”

Not every lucky day ends with a brand-new Ford F-150! The entire team at J. Ryder Group / Ford Lincoln Hole in One Program are excited and honored to be a part of this very special day! Congratulations to Henry Frey and the entire team at Courtesy Ford!
