When Chris Johnson stepped up to the tee at the Fighting Kids Cancer Golf Tournament, hosted at the Ballyhack Golf Club in Roanoke, VA, little did he know he was about to make history. Armed with his trusty 6 iron, Chris eyed hole #13 with determination. With one swift swing, his ball soared through the air, landing on the green beside the hole. But what happened next was nothing short of spectacular - the ball gracefully danced along the contours and, against all odds, found its way into the hole!
But the excitement didn't end there. This wasn't just any hole-in-one- it was on a main prize hole, sponsored by our partners at Magic City Ford Lincoln, with the ultimate reward - a 2-year lease on a brand-new Ford Escape.
As cheers erupted and high-fives were exchanged, the significance of Chris's achievement reverberated beyond the fairway. The funds raised at the tournament will directly support the much-needed resources for the upcoming pediatric cancer treatment center in Roanoke Valley, championed by The Life Ring Foundation. The 32nd Annual Golf for Life Classic didn't just unfold as a typical golf event; it was a day filled with unexpected twists and unforgettable moments. On the summer morning the Maple Leaf Golf Course woke up to an uncharacteristic downpour. Just as 160 enthusiastic golfers embarked on their rounds, a burst of sunshine broke through the rain clouds.
The turning point of the day occurred on the challenging 2 East hole. The hole is surrounded by dense trees, and a daunting hill.
It was time for Richard's first shot. Yes! His first shot of the day. The golf ball soared through the air; the trajectory perfect. Richard's friends watched as the ball descended towards the green. It landed softly on the grass then disappeared into the cup! His reward? A two-year lease on a brand-new Ford F-150, generously provided by Hagen Ford.
From the tee, Richard could not see the green and his achievement. "Ah, whatever," he replied, still not fully believing his friends that he got a hole in one. It was until he got closer Richard saw he had a hole-in-one! The crowd showered Richard with congratulatory cheers and as the day unfolded, he found himself the recipient of celebratory shots. Suffice it to say, his golfing prowess didn't experience any miraculous improvement throughout the day!
When asked for advice on achieving a hole in one, Richard simply said, "It's all just luck!" He had no rituals to start his round, other than enjoying a delicious Bloody Mary. The event had not only been a resounding success in terms of fun but also in terms of fundraising. Thanks to the unwavering support of the participants and sponsors, a staggering $78,000 was raised. These funds would go on to make a profound and lasting impact on the lives of patients and communities in dire need.

The SOS K9 Annual Golf Outing is a tournament held annually to support the K9 Program. This hole in one contest was sponsored by our partners at Witt Ford LLC, who are always looking for ways to help in their community.
On a hot and humid day in August, at the Golden Sands Golf Community, Dean Mauel got up to hole # 8 at the SOS K9. Dean has been golfing for about 30 years and currently plays about two times a week.
It was Dean’s lucky hole that day. Dean had a perfect hit, it landed right before the green, went left, then rolled in the hole! This was Dean’s first hole in one. He was the winner of the TourEdge Golf Clubs!
Dean has never played at this specific tournament before but is a member at the golf course. He got called in last minute by his friend Tom to play on his team, and he is happy he did!

On July 11, 2022, Joseph Middleton made a hole in one, at the 33rd Annual Torrington Winsted Rotary Club Golf Outing. It was a beautiful sunny day with a slight breeze.
Joe got up to hole #3, while using his 6 iron, hit the ball, saw it hit the ground and bounce! He was looking to see where it went, then noticed his team going crazy! It bounced into the hole!
Joe has been playing Golf for 25 years, 27 weeks a year. His USGA handicap fluctuates between 9.9 and 11-1/2. Joe was the winner of an awesome Yeti Cooler. Enjoy, Joe!

The Torrington Winsted Rotary Club is an organization who is always active in their community, whether it is a food drive, Bell Ringing, or Golf Tournaments like this. Thank you to our partners at Lombard Ford Inc, Winsted Connecticut for sponsoring the Hole In One.
]]>On a perfect Monday in May at the Philadelphia Country Club, Tyler Braun made his hole in one during the Independence Blue Cross Foundation Golf Tournament. This is an annual tournament, and through the funds raised, will support the nonprofits who assist locals in need with improving the health of the community.
This is the 2nd time Tyler has golfed in this tournament. Tyler has been a golfer most of his life since his step-dad is a teaching pro. This is Tyler's 2nd hole in one, but the 1st time for a prize. The 1st time he made a hole in one, he was a teenager golfing with his sister.
Tyler was the winner of a 7 night worldwide get away sponsored by our partners at Bergey's Ford. Tyler was part of a work 4-some along with his boss. When Tyler got up to hit, his boss mentioned now was a good time to hit a hole in one, which is exactly what Tyler did!
Congratulations Tyler and enjoy your vacation!
