Hole in One Winner

School Fundraising Golf Event Ends in Hole in One and Free Jetta

Norm White receiving the car he won from Volkswagen of Perrysburg

It was a typical October day in Toledo, Ohio, a little grey, blustery cold day for golf. The outing was held at Legacy golf Club to benefit Toledo Christian School and Volkswagen of Perrysburg supported them this year, by offering up a 2020 Volkswagen Jetta!

The money raised helps them to provide some scholarships and improvements to the school, which started in a basement a long time ago. The school has come a long way and Norm White has supported this outing and the school for around 40 years. Norm has put three children through school there and now his grandchildren and he raves about the education they received!

Norm is a lifelong golfer and is semi-retired. He spends the winters in Florida, where he is a starter at a country club in Fort Myers, so he can golf 2-3 days a week. That day Norm golfed with is wife, sister in-law, his son and his 15-year-old granddaughter was the cart driver and caddy.

This was a wonderful day golfing with family for a great cause and it just got better! It was towards the middle of the tournament and it was hole number 13 and the yardage was 187-yard par 3. Everyone had hit and it was Norm’s turn.

He used his driver and hit it about as well as he could, it bounced a few times and rolled up and into the hole. Everyone was cheering. White said that it was different because of Covid protocol, but none the less a great day was made sweeter by getting the Hole In One for the 2020 Jetta.

Norm being the great dad that he is gave the car to his son that drives 180 miles a day to work! Norm White said that the vehicle is wonderful and thanks Volkswagen of Perrysburg for their support.
