Grandmother of 5 Hits a Hole in One

Pictured above is the lucky winner, Lois Breneman, and her brand-new Ford F-150 Lariat edition courtesy of AutoNation Ford Bradenton.

Lois Breneman, 69-year-old mother of 3 grown daughters and grandmother of 5 grandchildren is enjoying golfing now that she is working part time. Lois is one of 5 children, her parents had two sets of twins and Lois was the last set and has a twin brother. Lois grew up in Arizona and her mother and father were golfers. Dad was a commander in the army. Her mother wanted to surprise her for her 16th birthday and purchased a set of Patty Berg Woods for her. Sadly, two weeks before her birthday, her mother passed away. Lois cherished the Patty Berg woods and still has them in her attic.

Lois and the family moved two more times and she didn’t get much time with her clubs. It wasn’t until she moved to Florida in 1971 that she golfed more, like 3 times a year. So about 10 years ago, she injured herself playing Racquetball and decided that it was time to golf more. When asked if this was her first hole in one, she said that she had one about 6 years ago. Lois is a nurse and that night speaking with one of her elderly patients about golfing the next day and he said that she was going to get a hole in one. Sure, enough she did!

Lois said that she has golfed in this outing to benefit Family Resources in Pinellas County. She said that Dr. Lisa Davis is the CEO for the charity and is so passionate about working with children in the after-school programs. She works with teens that have nowhere to sleep at night and provides counseling too. A truly worthy cause to benefit the children in their communities. In the summer months this private club is open to nonmembers, so she golfs in a Friday night league there. Lois knows the course pretty well.

On October 6th, she and her dear friend Cindy, friend Steve and his friend Chris headed out the 5th hole, their first one in the shotgun start. The second hole, number 6 was the Hole in One for a 2 year lease on an F-150. So on the way to the hole Lois took a slight detour to look at the truck. The guys tee off first, then Cindy and last was Lois. She said that normally that hole she plays from 135 yards, but today they had to hit from 158 yards. Normally she would use her 4 wood, but because it was almost 25 yards longer she used her 3 wood. She said that she hit it well and the ball landed on the green, but I could not see exactly where is landed because of the sun. Then it was confirmed, when the spotter started jumping and yelling. Lois and her teammates were so happy for her.

Danny Wilson was on hand from AutoNation Ford Bradenton and took lots of pictures and joined in on the celebration. Lois said that Danny and Troy Brown from AutoNation Ford Bradenton were fantastic to deal with. Lois is going to buy the truck from them after the lease is over and asked if she could pick out the truck color and options. They said no problem! Lois is very happy driving her new F-150 Lariat edition in Ruby red and named her truck Ruby.

Congrats Lois!
