Golfer Hits an Ace on Course's Signature Hole
The morning of July 17th, 2017 Greg Laubach participated in the President’s Cup Tournament in Hagerstown, Maryland. This tournament was played on the beautiful Congressional Country Club’s Blue Course. According to Greg and the rest of his foursome, the President’s Cup is “the biggest tournament of the year” as all four of them have been looking forward to the 17th of July all summer long. Upon its arrival, Greg had the best shot of his career in the “best environment possible,” he recalls.
Greg is an avid golfer and has been for the past 20 years, roughly the same goes for the rest of his friends in his foursome. The weather treated them well that day; it was sunny all day with a little bit of overcast, but nothing hindering. The entire foursome knew about the prize and what it entailed.
Being that they’ve all played this course as well as this exact tournament in years past, they were nervous about the vehicle prize hole being on hole number 12, the course’s signature hole. Greg claimed, “It is always quite difficult, no matter how good you are at golfing.” Greg also said that he felt on his game this year, even going into his first shot on hole 12. He felt that he had a shot for the prize.
As he teed off on hole 12, Greg did not actually think he made it and didn’t know until they approached the green and couldn’t find his ball. One of his friends had an idea to look in the hole. This confirmed Greg had made his second hole in one shot in his career for a brand-new Ford F-150. Greg spoke highly of the staff at Hagerstown Ford saying “They were outstanding to work with; Hagerstown Ford was incredible to work with.” This year’s President’s Cup was one to remember for this group of men, and they remain unsure how they will top it next year.
The entire team at J. Ryder Group / Ford Hole in One Program are very excited and honored to be a part of this very special day! Congratulations to Greg and the great folks at Hagerstown Ford!
